Insurance 
I am not an in-network provider for any insurance company. As a licensed mental health professional my fees are almost always partially reimbursed through your insurance coverage. Although it may sound daunting, the process of applying for your reimbursement is relatively straightforward. Often the process is just a matter of filling out a simple online form on your insurance company's website. I suggest you contact your insurance company in advance for specific coverage details. Although it varies, most clients are reimbursed 60-85% of my fees.

Questions Regarding your Health Insurance Coverage:
Do you have any kind of health insurance coverage?   YES or NO
If No, you will not receive reimbursement for services rendered by my practice from an insurance company. All costs will be out of pocket.
If Yes, please move on to the next question. 

Do you have out-of-network benefits?     YES or NO
If No, all costs of rendered services by my practice will be out of pocket with no reimbursement from your insurance company.
If Yes, move on to the next question.

Do you intend to submit a claim to your insurance company for out-of-network services?    YES or NO
If No, you will not receive reimbursement for services rendered by my practice. All costs will be out of pocket.
If Yes, you MAY get reimbursed a percentage of the total cost of services rendered. Please read below.

Insurance policies may or may not reimburse for services, depending on your insurance plan. I encourage you to check with your insurance company to determine if they will or will not reimburse for out-of-network counseling services and how much they will reimburse, before your first scheduled appointment. Currently, most treatment is provided by telehealth services. Your insurance company may or may not cover telehealth services. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company to determine reimbursement eligibility (if applicable) on all services both in office and telehealth. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

The following information is to help you determine if your insurance will reimburse a portion of your fees:
Call the 800 number on the back of your insurance card for mental/behavioral health benefits.
Ask if your policy covers telehealth counseling and/or in-office counseling and through which date
Ask if your policy includes out-of-network outpatient (private practice) benefits.
Ask if you have a deductible to first meet. If so, ask how much of your deductible you have already met.
Ask how much the out-of-network benefits reimburse for counseling
Ask how and where you should send the invoices/receipts for out-of-network reimbursement and how long it takes to receive reimbursement.

Why I Don’t Take Insurance
If I ‘took’ insurance, then I would technically be working for the insurance company. Since I work directly and privately with you, I am not required to divulge extensive personal information to them. How to accomplish the goals of therapy are decided upon by you and I, not an insurance representative. If I took insurance, the insurance company would dictate how long you could stay in therapy. If I were to disagree with their assessment, I would have to divulge your therapy history and other personal information to them in the hope of extending needed therapy. For these reasons, I choose to not work for insurance companies. I recognize the importance of your privacy and want to empower individuals that are seeking treatment to do so on a timeline that suits their own comfort level, outside the confines of insurance policies. It is your right to determine the course of your own treatment and it is my responsibility to maintain treatment integrity. 

Cancellation Policy
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for you, a minimum of 48 hours (2 days) notice is required for re-scheduling or canceling an appointment.  Unless we reach a different agreement, the full fee will be charged for sessions missed without such notification.  Most insurance companies do not reimburse for misses sessions.

Payment 
I accept personal check, cash or credit card through our PayPal or SQUARE. When using a credit card, payment must be made prior to coming to your session so it can be verified. All payments are expected at the beginning of your session.
